In this video, we not only point out the short comings of the Encore, G-2 and ProHunter rifles, we will show you, in great detail, how to fix them.
I will assure you that we have done our home work with this video. We have been working on this video and its content since October of 2008 and we have had unlimited access to dozens of Encore rifles. This video has three main topics:
- barrel
- hinge pin fit
- trigger
These three items have been a problem with every Encore series of rifles we have dealt with.
1. The first topic in the video is the barrel of which we give you a better and cheaper alternative to a Thompson Center barrel with the new drop-in barrels by Bergara. These barrels will give you true out-of-the-box accuracy unlike TC barrels that need many shots fired through them before they get broke in. I'll show you how to choose one and how to fit it to your Encore.
2. I will also show you how to check for and obtain the proper fit of your barrel to the frame by getting the proper hinge pin fit. Proper hinge pin fit is critical in order to achieve maximum accuracy.
3. I will take you step-by-step on which internal parts need to be polished and honed in order to obtain an outstanding trigger job on your rifle. These Encore's can have an easy to understand trigger mechanism and with very few modifications I will show you how to upgrade yours.
This video goes into great detail on the internal parts of the Encore series of rifles starting with disassembly of this very easy to understand system.
Then step-by-step instructions on how to re-assemble and how to test the work you have done to insure that the rifle is as safe as it was when it left the factory. Our instruction in this video very detailed and easy to understand. Once you have taken the frame apart and put it back together a few times you will truly see just how simple of a system this is.
If you chose not to do your own trigger job, the video is still worth the price just to learn how to take the frame apart and put it back together for a good annual deep cleaning of your rifle.
Every rifle we have taken down has been full of dirt and grime. Thompson Center has a great system, but they have just fallen short on the final fit and finish that can make it an outstanding rifle. This video will let you take control of and fix these short comings and end up with nothing short of a Custom Encore, G-2 or Pro hunter.
